Why we need a better field
Environmental and Safety News
Recent reports have shown very positive results about synthetic fields.
The New York State Departments of Health and Environmental Conservation recently published the results of their long-awaited joint study on the safety of turf. The study concluded that synthetic turf with crumb rubber infill poses no significant risk to humans or the environment. To read more about this definitive study, click here.
New York City commissioned its own study on the air quality above turf fields. Sponsored by the NYC Department of Health and Human Hygiene, this study — released in March — showed no difference in air quality above turf fields vs. grass fields. For more on this study, click here.

Thank you. Together we did it.
What a truly amazing effort! We are happy to be a part of it. The need was obvious, the project spoke for itself and the community responded. We raised $465,000 by Nov. 1st. Thank you all so much.
We would also like to thank and acknowledge significant contributions from the Larchmont Junior Soccer League, the Larchmont Mamaroneck Youth Lacrosse league, the Mamaroneck Midget Football League, and the Larchmont Mamaroneck Little League.
If you didn't get a chance to donate, it's not too late to donate. Your donation will go to the next phase of the plan — lights, bigger bleachers and more....

Can we fix it? Yes we can!
Field designers and engineers hired by the Mamaroneck School District have developed plans for an updated athletic facility at Memorial Field. The plan would finally provide the kind of modern facilities now in use at most public school districts in Westchester: a safe and resilient playing surface which could stand up to heavy use; a regulation-size oval track at the perimeter; generous new seating; and precision lighting to extend usage and allow evening events.
"Project 2010" will focus on the first phase of the plan: Renovating the field.
Together we did it!
