The team at Larchmont-Mamaroneck Fields for Kids would like to wish you all a happy New Year.  As we look back on 2010, we have much to be proud of and much to be grateful for.  Our community rallied around fixing up the flagship field at Mamaroneck High School, and what a field it is!  If you haven't had the chance, stop by and check it out.  It has lines for soccer, lacrosse, football and field hockey, plus a magnificent orange M at midfield.  It has new field posts and netting.  It has a state-of-the art drainage system.  And it has lights! 

FFK and partners were hoping to raise enough money to help the district cover the cost of the field construction.  But a few significant donations came in at the last minute and made the lights possible as well!  Plus, the Mamaroneck Schools Foundation is sponsoring a new Scoreboard and Sound System.  So this is an amazing team effort by all.  Congratulations to the School District and School Board for managing this big project from start to finish. 

The real celebration will take place when we see kids out there playing on the field.  According to the district, play will begin in late winter, early spring.  The field will be used by Physical Education classes, school teams and community groups.  An official ribbon cutting ceremony will be held in the spring at a sporting event.  Stay tuned for more details.
