What’s all the fuss about Fields?
•There are more kids playing community and school sports than ever before, and there simply aren’t enough fields in Larchmont-Mamaroneck to accommodate them.
•The grass is greener in nearly every neighboring community including Port Chester, Rye, New Rochelle, White Plains, Mount Vernon, Scarsdale and Bronxville, all of which have completed significant new field projects in the last few years.
•Space for fields in Larchmont-Mamaroneck is scarce, so real solutions require vision, teamwork, perseverance and funding. To meet our capacity needs, multiple projects will be necessary.
Who is Fields for Kids and how are we helping?
•Advocacy: We are a grass root organization that advocates for more and better playing fields throughout our three municipalities and school district.
•Collaboration: We have conducted studies, hosted inter-municipal roundtables, attended public meetings and worked with elected officials, school representatives, engineers, parks commissioners and sports organizations to find solutions.
•Fundraising: We provide financial support for meaningful projects through private fundraising and grants.
